Do you know that your head weighs 10 – 14lbs?

Every inch that your head is forward, double that weight is added to your back, neck and shoulders!

The upper back will compensate by moving backwards.

If the upper back moves backwards, your hips will compensate by moving forwards.

The above not only leads to neck and shoulder problems but also to mid and lower back problems.

We tend to lead with our chin, we stick our chin out when walking, when turning our heads, whenever we move.

Start to think about the back of your head more, when you turn your head from side to side, think about leading with the back of your head, it will help you stop sticking your chin out and that simple ‘thought’ will naturally draw your head back and help it to return to normal alignment.

Practice daily until it becomes a habit and you’ll feel the tension disappearing from your neck, shoulders and back 🙂

Pain in the neck is often caused by a forward head posture.
