Everyone I meet is on a Detox: out with the chocolate, cakes, rich food & Prosecco, and in with the green veg, organic food and water.

Have you looked in a Gym recently…..they are fit to burst!

Did you make any resolutions? Did you set any goals?

Are you still maintaining them??

Now, I know what you are thinking: this is just another article about how goal setting only works for the short term, how 92% of us fail by the end of January etc etc.

But no, that’s not what got me thinking. What got me thinking was the ‘type’ of goal/resolutions we set.

Most of them are based around improving our ‘Health’……

But only in relation to our bodies…..we want to get fit, we want to lose weight, we want to look fab!

Now, there is nothing wrong with that, I’m all for being healthier, improving our bodies is crucial for our well-being, whether that is by doing Pilates/Yoga/walking or going to the Gym – it’s all good 🙂

Looking at out nutrition is equally as crucial for our well-being, eliminating processed foods, cutting out toxins, eating freshly cooked homemade food, even supplementing for our health – it’s all good 🙂

But, what about our Minds??? With all this focus on our Bodies, have we given any thoughts on how to improve our ‘Minds’?

I wonder why we place so little importance on improving our ‘Minds’ – surely that is where we should start?

If I said to you, you only need to do one Pilates class to be flexible and strong, you only need to go to the gym once to be fit and toned – you would laugh at me.

But, we think we can read a motivational post, perhaps a self-help book, maybe do a one-day workshop and that’s it – our ‘Minds’ are all sorted now?

It would be nice if that was true – improving your Mind is crucial to your well-being: your Mind affects EVERYTHING, and I do mean everything.

Your Mind will affect if you succeed in your fitness

Your Mind will affect if you succeed at losing weight.

Your Mind affects the success in every area of your life – relationship, health, wealth, what you think you can do, what you think you CAN’T do, your HAPPINESS.

What was your resolution this year? Maybe you’re looking in the wrong place, unless of course you are living the life of your dreams?
