Hope you have all had a lovely half term.
This half term I stayed at home – sometimes I just love being at home, having the time off from teaching means I have more opportunity to do other things that all help me live a life less ordinary.
When I talk about living a life less ordinary or about transforming your life, everyone expects that to mean something huge, doing something wildly different, making sweeping changes overnight, doing exotic or extreme things – you get the picture.
But I don’t mean that at all. For me, living a life less ordinary is about doing the things I love, the things that give me pleasure and fulfilment, doing things that are genuinely in alignment with who I am, and it’s this that leads to transformation or living a life less ordinary.
So what did my week look like:
Monday was an RTT session in the studio followed by updating my website with my new certifications, Mindscape and Soul Realignment. Poppy (my step-daughter) joined us as she was having a wonderful work experience day on Tuesday at French Living.
Tuesday – book writing morning (working on my first draft with the intention of getting it to my publishers by the end of the week) followed by calls, emails and admin for the studio. Then caught the train into Nottingham to meet up with Poppy and Max and have a celebratory dinner in French Living – delicious!
Wednesday – dropping Poppy off at the train station and then meeting the lovely Becky (Gong lady) at the studio to see if the space is suitable for gong baths! We are both delighted that the space will be perfect, so look out for dates coming soon. Gong baths are a truly wonderful experience. Next, Kundalini with Louise – another challenging, fun and meditative practice. Back home briefly, food, reading and then back for an evening Kundalini session – it’s completely different to the lunch-time practice and I always sleep so well on a Wednesday evening.
Thursday – book writing day, determined to get the first draft finished and I do – yippee! In between, I made a few calls and answered enquiries and emails.
Friday – a day with my grandkids, baking healthy cakes and scrumptious flapjacks, followed by playing in the park, playing many games on a Nintendo Switch (Dance off, Zen, Treasure Chest) and being beaten all the time, even by the 4 yr old! Hugs and cuddles as I wave them off, an evening drinking Prosecco, laughing, planning and plotting with the hubby.
And that was my 5 days and that is living my life less ordinary. For me it was about being able to do some things totally for me, some family things, working on projects for the future and steering my life down the path I have chosen. All these things are what I love doing, feel right to me and are in alignment with who I am.
Nothing complicated, all simple, yet so many of us fill our precious lives with things we don’t like doing, jobs we absolutely hate, people who drain us, doing things that leave us feeling lost and unsatisfied – it never has to be like that, it is YOUR life so get out there and live your life a little less ordinary.
