We live in a society that is so focused on quick fixes, fast food is everywhere, not just the restaurants but supermarkets filled with ready meals. Diet pills or ridiculous diets that lead to rapid weight loss (and the inevitable rapid weight gain!), exercise programs that claim to transform you in a couple of weeks and so it goes on.

Its interesting how impatient we have all become, I wonder if this leads to our ever sense of dissatisfaction? I read a very good article on the subtle differences between patience and impatience.

When we are impatient we are focusing on what we don’t have, we resent the absence of that that we don’t have and this leads to a greater sense of dissatisfaction in our lives, always looking to the future in the hopes we can attain what is absent in our lives, instead of course enjoying, loving and being grateful for the here and now!

Patience, on the other hand is all about being in the here and now, loving the place you’re in, enjoying the moment, appreciating your life as it is now.

So, lets stop being impatient as none of us know what the future has to offer, right now it doesn’t even exist, lets embrace patience and enjoy the Here and Now!
