Hormones play a huge part in our ability to lose fat! In fact just looking at where you carry fat will give you clear clues as to which hormones might not be functioning optimally in your body!

If you are very ‘stressed’ your adrenal glands will produce more cortisol and this will result in more fat being stored around your abdominals – classic wobbly ‘belly fat’.

If you have too much oestrogen then you’ll carry fat around your hips and thighs and men develop man boobs!

If your thyroid is not functioning well, then you will carry excess fat all over, due to the effect of the thyroid on your metabolism.

If your liver is ‘toxic’ and struggling to function properly then you can have the classic ‘pot belly’ or ‘beer belly’ look.

We need to address our hormone balance to successfully lose fat, that’s why we Detox in our group, clear out as many toxins as possible and get our nutrition up as fast as possible – trying to lose fat without addressing your hormones leads to yo yo dieting, you’re fighting a losing battle.

3 Quick Tips to start to balance your hormones:

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate – I know you’re probably tired of me saying it, but, nearly ALL of us are dehydrated, how can we flush out toxins if we don’t drink enough water??

2. Increase your green veg – I can’t stress this enough, green veg can help with all sorts of things including balancing our oestrogen levels. Consume green veg with every meal, or if you find that impossible, do what I do and use Lean Greens – one glass full a day is all you need.

3. Cut out or at least minimise processed foods – if thats too much for you to do in one go, at least eliminate sugar, use alternatives where possible, Stevia, Honey, Fruit
