You do your Pilates for one hour per week………. so ask yourself, is your posture as good as you would like it to be? Are you totally pain free? Are you supple and strong? If not why not?
One hour per week you do Pilates but what about all the other time???
Sitting at a computer
Slumping watching TV
Playing tennis/golf/running/gym
Walking
Gardening
Driving
Cycling
Shopping
Rushing….
All these hours away from Pilates count, we create habits, we don’t even notice them, we sit in a certain way, lean through one hip, cross the same leg, collapse forward when sitting, stick our chins out, walk hinged from our hips and so on…….
These habits create tension, tight sides, weak sides, lets try and change our habits….
Sit evenly on your sit bones
Be aware of your hips being level,
Stand on both feet
Keep that chin in – remember last weeks newsletter, lead with the back of your head.
Keep your shoulders level
Allow your shoulders to melt down
Stand & walk on your glutes
Move from your hips & knees & give your spine a well deserve rest
Do Pilates for 15mins each day
Practise regularly & develop new habits 🙂
