We all have dreams, especially when we are younger. We dream about travelling the world, climbing mountains, driving fast cars, flying in first class, being a writer, Doctor, vet, athlete, artist, whatever it is your heart desires, we all have dreams, some huge and some small, but all important to us.
Where does the hope go?
When do our expectations of what we can do, be or have disappear?
Does it start to fade when we leave school, at University, when we turn 20/30/40??
Or are you still full of hope, plans, expectations and dreams?
I still have so many and each year that passes many more of my dreams are experienced. I intend to live my life my way, doing the things I love, seeing the places I want to see. I’m a firm believer in getting those dreams out of your head and into reality – that’s the only place for them to be.
The one piece of advice I can offer to those of you who want to ‘Fly’ is to let go of all that stuff that is holding you back!
If you carry it with you all through life, you will NEVER be light enough to ‘Fly’
You have to stop holding onto old, outdated beliefs that keep you stuck exactly were you are. We are all full of old beliefs that don’t serve us, they hinder us. They stop us from doing the things we really want to do, they keep us playing small and safe, they keep us abiding by all the invisible rules and definitions we have woven around us, they stop us from ever really knowing who we are, what we are capable of and yes, they do stop us from being happy.
The trouble is, it’s not always easy to do it by yourself and it is a journey…….a lifelong one at that.
It is a journey, an exciting one, of acceptance, awareness, accountability and finally action.
It’s a journey I have been on for many years and a journey I love and will never stop, but it’s not one I’ve done by myself. I’ve had guidance, mentoring, coaching, all sorts of help along the way – but what a journey!
During the heavy snow, I was in London, continuing my journey with a group of women from all over the world: from South Africa, US, Portugal, Dubai, Iceland, Spain and the UK. We were all taking part in our Advanced Rapid Transformational Certification. The stories, the conversations, the connections were so powerful, the ripple effect will be awesome as each and every one of those 18 women go out into the world and help people to ‘Fly’ again. Magical!
