We hear all the time how your thoughts create your life……it is everywhere at the moment, ‘change your thoughts, change your life’.

Now, I totally agree with this, but of course it is not quite as simple as this and there is a little caveat that we need to add.

Your mind works like this:

Experiences

Beliefs

Thoughts

Feelings

Actions

Results

It makes sense that you form beliefs based on all your influences and what happens to you, we all have a very set belief system and from our beliefs come our thoughts.  So, for example, if we have low self esteem, we spend a lot of time thinking that we are not good enough, not slim enough, not clever enough, not interesting enough and so on. When we think these things, we feel emotion around them – in this case we are probably feeling nervous, disappointed in ourselves, sad, scared etc – and these feelings have a direct effect on the action we take.  We might not apply for that wonderful job, we might not stand up and give that presentation, we don’t cross that River of Change, so we can see that the results we get in our lives are directly related to our thoughts.

However, so many of us fall into the trap that the thoughts create our reality and therefore we don’t have to do anything but think, but make a decision, a choice.

That is only the first step.

A choice is just a choice, until we take Action, and until we take action nothing will change, no matter how hard you think about it!

How many times have you thought I would love to be slimmer, but not changed your diet – not taken any action?

Or I would love to be a Pilates teacher or an RTT therapist :-), but not done the training – not taken any action?

Or I want to travel, but not booked that trip – not taken any action?

Instead, justified to ourselves why this isn’t the right time to take action or decided that that action is too hard for us, not available to us etc.

So yes, your THOUGHTS can change your life, but only if YOU take the relevant ACTION.
