Well, it’s Valentine’s Day this Sunday, so I couldn’t miss the opportunity to write about LOVE!
When we think of Valentines, we think of Romantic love – some of us might be thinking……
How lucky we are to have found the love of our lives… or
We might be wondering what we ever loved about that person that now seems a stranger to us,
We might love someone who doesn’t love us back,
We might love someone we know we shouldn’t love
We might have loved this person for many, many years,
We may have loved for merely a few days,
We might not even be thinking about romantic love, but our thoughts might be with a parent, a son, a daughter, a cherished friend, a pet. This Valentine’s Day, we might be thinking of any number of people that we love, but how many of us are going to be thinking of ourselves?!
How many of us truly love ourselves? How many of us even like ourselves?
This is a question in one of the exercises we do on our Mindset workshops/course.
Every time, the MAJORITY of people answer NO to this question! It really breaks my heart, these wonderful, unique people who all have so much to offer, truly do not love themselves ……. how can it not break your heart 🙁 ???
It makes me wonder what stories they have, that lead them to believe they are not worthy of love from themselves?!
That the one person that should love them unconditionally – does not.
Some even answer that they do not even LIKE themselves.
Mindset helps you separate yourself from your thoughts.
It is so important to remember that you are NOT your thoughts.
I was asked by a client this week if I could help them to be a better person, to be more than they are so that they could love themselves more.
My answer is a resounding NO …….Mindset is NOT about trying to be MORE than you are, just ALL that you are.
It’s not about trying to change the essence of you, but about allowing you to see who you truly are and recognising that you are ALL that you need to be.
All you need to do is let go of that which is holding you back.
When you see that, you will fall in love totally and unconditionally with the one person that you should………..and that one person is YOU!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
