If someone asked you what was the single most important thing in life, what would your answer be?
I used to answer Health, surely what we all want is to be healthy, without our health there would be so many things that we simply couldn’t do in our lives. Without our health we cannot enjoy our lives to the fullest, maybe we couldn’t travel, play sport, walk, run, cycle, swim, we might not have the energy or desire to do things we used to…….health is a real bigger!
But, it has slipped down my list to second place! The first most important thing in life is not actually Health but TIME.
Just think about this………it is the one thing in life that you will NEVER get back. As you read this, the time it takes you to read this has gone, you will never get that time back again.
We all know that ‘time is precious’ but do we treat it as such? How often do we say ….I’ll do it later, I’m too busy to do it right now, we long for the weekend wishing our week away, we can’t wait for our holiday to come around, wishing the time to pass fast, we do endless amounts of ‘faffing’ under the pretence of being too busy, we sit around watching mindless TV, letting time pass by……we ALL do a certain amount of this.
But, if we actually stop and think that the time we’ve just wasted that time we will NEVER get back again – it really starts to make you think!
Did you spend your precious time well today, have you spent any of your time doing things that add value in your life? Are you putting off “stuff’ because you think that time is endless and you will get the opportunity to do it another day?
Let’s not underestimate the value of Time, it is THE most important thing in our lives so let’s start to treat it as the precious commodity it actually is, let’s stop putting things off and start using our time more productively.
Whatever you want to do is fine, no judgement on that, but do make sure that you have CHOSEN to spend your time in that way, not wished it away, not idled it away, because you will NEVER get that time back!
Take some TIME out for yourself , make that time happen, spend it with us learning a new skill, working on your body and mind to improve and add value to your life 🙂
