Those of you that have done any Mindset work with me will have heard this mentioned many times before…..to be truly successful in ANY area of your life you just have to apply the above formula – that’s it, nothing more complicated than that!
For us to feel happy with our lives we need to create Sustainable Success. Whether that’s in Business, Relationships or Health & Fitness, for us to feel ‘good’ in all these areas, we need to create sustainable success in these areas.
The point is, it really doesn’t matter which area of your life that you need/want to improve on, the only way it will work is if you can create something that lasts – sustainable success.
What do I mean by that? Simply, we need to set up ‘systems’ whereby we can maintain whatever it is we are trying to do. That means is has to be SIMPLE, complicated just doesn’t work long term, it has to be CONSISTENT, we all know the value of the compound effect – something small but done every day. That’s it – literally, that is all there is to it!
SIMPLE + CONSISTENCY = SUCCESS
OK, here’s an example…..how many times have we set ourselves a goal to lose X number of pounds by a certain date? How many times have we failed at this?? Countless times, otherwise we wouldn’t be doing it again and again. We set ourselves a task that is too hard, not realistic, one that we’ve already failed numerous times before, trying yet another different diet, exercise regime – that is not simple, that’s complicated and will only lead to failure. Then, we are not consistent, we might stick with it for a few days, maybe even a week or 2, but we have set ourselves a regime that we cannot maintain on a consistent basis – so why are we so surprised when we fail?
If you want to make any changes in your life, make sure that you keep it SIMPLE, change one small thing that you know you can do consistently……for example, try no alcohol during the week and do it consistently. Remember, if you are invited out and want a drink, so what, that’s fine, as long as it happens occasionally and you know that you do not drink during the week. This one consistent habit will have the pounds dropping off slowly and permanently 🙂
SIMPLE + CONSISTENCY = SUCCESS
What about relationships…..forget all those great promises to work harder on your relationship…too complicated, choose one thing that you know you can stick with – it might be texting your partner daily, phoning your mum once a week, eating together as a family once per week, date night with your partner once per month – it doesn’t matter what but keep it small and achievable = SIMPLE and do it consistently – you will notice how quickly things improve 🙂

Business, why do I write this newsletter every week? I know some of you don’t read it, I don’t take it personally, I get loads of emails I don’t read too! So, why do I take the time to do it? Because it helps me to build relationships with all of YOU. You are all important to me and I don’t just want to turn up and teach the best Pilates Class ever ( :-))!!), I want to give you more, I want to connect with you, inspire you, share my thoughts with you, communicate and connect with you. When I started this newsletter many years ago, I promised myself that I would keep it SIMPLE and would do it every Friday at the same time, CONSISTENCY…I’ve not missed one yet!
Is it successful?? …. YES, I have over 560 readers and it’s growing all the time – we are becoming quite a little community and the feedback I get is great 🙂
