As we are racing towards the end of the year, there is often that unsettling feeling as we reflect back over the past year.Did we achieve what we wanted to?

Did we do the things we said we would?

Did we live our lives being true to who we are?

Do we even know who we are?

What is my life all about?

What is my life purpose?

Life Purpose is a huge topic and one that I get asked about all the time. We were also discussing exactly this in our 3 E’s meet up last Friday.

For me there are 2 equally important things that you have to get right:

1. I believe you cannot possibly know what your life purpose is unless you truly know yourself. It can take a bit of time to work out who you are, what makes you smile, what you dislike, what you believe in, what your values are, your principles, what do you love, what brings you joy (and equally, what brings you unhappiness).

We have to KNOW who we are.

2. We have to LOVE ourselves. Most of us find this really hard – to accept and love ourselves unconditionally is extremely hard to do. We may say we like ourselves, some of us may say we love ourselves, but when we are put in a situation where we have to talk about something we are wonderful at, gifted at, proud of, love about ourselves – most of us wobble. We think somehow that to recognise are own genius is boastful, bragging, being cocky and numerous other negative words.  We are ‘wired’ to think it is wrong, and yet when we are born we know without any doubt whatsoever that we are wonderful, worthy and totally good enough! Over the years, I have worked hard at changing this and will now happily answer that the latest RTT session was awesome or that I have given a truly transformational Soul Realignment to a client. I’m finding it easier and easier to recognise my gifts and my strengths.  That doesn’t men to say I don’t wobble – I do – but what is true to say is that I wobble less and less and I know that this keeps on improving year in year out.

But, I hear you say, what has this got to do with Life Purpose??  Everything! You see you can only ever give what you already have inside of you.  If you feel drawn to helping others, yet you are a complete mess inside, you are going to struggle to fulfil your Life Purpose in an abundant way. That manifests itself like this: your ‘job’ will be a struggle, it will feel like hard work, you won’t be able to generate the income you really desire, you won’t be able to make the connections and relationships that would help your business to move forward, you will feel out of alignment; you won’t feel as healthy or energised and you will always be questioning what you should really be doing with your life.

You might be in exactly the right area for you, but have such low self-esteem, such a lack of unconditional love for yourself, that it will FEEL like you are on the wrong path. Always start with YOU first.

LOVE yourself.

Work on those two areas and everything changes always and in all ways.

Look inside not outside for clarity, Life Purpose starts with KNOWING you and LOVING you.

Be the very Best Version of You that You can be!
