By the time this newsletter reaches you, we will be glamping in the Moab Desert :-)After what I assume will be a whirlwind of a few days in Las Vegas, getting married in the Valley of Fire, Grand Canyon, exploring the Strip, the bustle, lights and madness of what is Vegas, we will be embarking on our honeymoon.
We will be collecting our hire car and hitting the road – travelling once again to the Grand Canyon, but this time to actually stay in the Canyon, to take in the wonder, beauty and enormity of it all in, and to spend a few days trekking around, just absorbing our environment.
This is something that has been on my ‘wish list’ for some time, as are many, many other place to see and things to do. I wanted to share this adventure with you all, not to boast, not to say look at me, but just as a reminder that this is YOUR life and it really is up to YOU what you choose to do with it. It has nothing to do with luck, though that most certainly doesn’t mean I’m not grateful. It means that I made choices that would enable me to do this trip.
The wedding and the trip were planned many months in advance, it was very important to do something that WE wanted to do, it was for us and that I feel is very important. We never lost sight of what it is we wanted and we worked towards it consistently over the last year.
The way I approached this trip was the way I approach everything:
Consistency and Simplicity
I know I mention it a lot, but this one thing is a life changer!
If we hadn’t done this, we would not have been able to afford this magical trip, we would not have been able to organise the time away from work, we would not have been able to organise all the many details that go into this trip and we would not have been able to keep this to ourselves.
Guess what? It was also great fun to do….small enjoyable steps – sound familiar?
So, after the stay in the Grand Canyon, we are off to Sedona, a very spiritual place that I’ve had a strong desire to see for some time now, we are staying in a very remote wooden cabin, with plenty of time to connect with nature and absorb the energy of the place.
Then it’s on the road again, stopping to see Monument Valley, Mesa Verde National Park and driving along the San Juan Skyway, before we reach the Moab Desert for a bit of Glamping under the stars!
Remember my newsletter Motivation or Hesitation?
We all have the desire to do all sorts of things, but when we hesitate, our brains feel unsafe and a lot of the time stops us in our tracks. Let’s stop Hesitating and start Doing, take those small enjoyable steps to YOUR heart’s desire, be consistent and keep it simple and YOU will get there – it’s always YOUR choice.
Happy Road Trips 🙂
