In all the Mindset Coaching that I do, in my Elevate your Life course, in the talks/presentations that I do, there is one theme that runs through them all:
Our lack of belief that we are Enough,
Whatever you like to call it – self worth, self esteem, self love, not enough – it all means the same, we are all plagued with this feeling that we are simply not ENOUGH.
Even when we are working at making improvements in our lives, in the way we think, in the way we react or respond to situations, what we are actually doing is striving to be MORE than we are.
However, if we are constantly striving to be more than we are, surely we are just going to compound our feelings of lack of self worth. We are going to end up feeling that somehow we are not enough: not good enough, not clever enough, not confident enough, not pretty enough, not slim enough, not fit enough…..the list is endless.
To make those changes in your life, you need to start from the premise that YOU ARE ENOUGH, because until you truly accept and believe that, you will be playing a comparison game, and that only serves to making you feel less than enough!
It also serves to keep you stuck exactly where you are. You will never achieve what you want as you’ll be always waiting until you are good enough, clever enough, confident enough etc to do the thing you desire.
Stuck is where we don’t want to be!
Have you ever noticed how babies, toddlers and little children never question whether they are Enough or not, they just accept they are – that is exactly how it should be. Sadly they start to learn to question their self worth through experiences with adults and it doesn’t take long before they too believe they are not Enough.
We all start out happy and full of self worth – if we have low self worth, then that’s because we’ve learnt it along the way. It may come from your experiences, your influences, your family, your friends, teachers, media etc BUT you have learnt it from somewhere! If you’ve learnt it – then you can unlearn it, you do not have to accept it as a truth.
Start today, make today that day you believe YOU ARE ENOUGH exactly as you are right now and your life will change and shift in ways you never thought possible 🙂
